Growing a small army..........Attitude of Gratitude  Excited for the growth of support for this grand dream. It is inspiring, moving and emotional to reach out to each of the donors. Some of them from Childhood, some from theatre life, some from family and others who are just moved to support. Each one important and integral to building a small army.... Over the course of the first week we have grown from 6 donors to almost 20. I knew that this campaign would be difficult. That reaching out and connecting to people about a 200 year old poem and making that resonate in todays world is a tough sell. But it does connect slowly and with conversations with people about how and why it is important to attempt this project. Maybe people resonate with the feminist aspect of having female narrators. Maybe its the epic adventure of interesting locations. Maybe its the artists involved and the potential of great work happening. Either way small bits of momentum are being molded into a r

It's not about the money.......It's connection............Fundraiser update. We are now a week into the release of the big dream of Lord Byron's Don Juan the web series. It is exciting to watch it grow and have people believe not only in the project, but in the intention behind it.  It is quite moving to connect with people that have been very influential in my life, and then to have them support a project that is a big dream for me. Very affirming.  A bridge to the past.  In this fundraiser, I've had a few people step up to donate that I have had a connection to for a long time. When we were in 4th grade, we were all selected to play munchkins in the high school production of the Wizard of Oz.  This was a moving experience on many levels. Performance, older people, and an introduction into a creative expression of theatre. So here we are 42 years later, and a significant number of the donors to step up are people that were munchkins with me in that high scho

So after first weekend of the fundraiser, and I am full of emotion. Excited at allowing the public to see things that I have been working on for a while. Some good feedback and reaction from people that knew nothing about the project. It's always exciting to share your creative work with people. This interpretation of Lord Byron's Don Juan is going to be unconventional and not what people expect. So it is fun to allow people to witness how it is coming together and being assembled. People have such a preconceived notion of Don Juan. I initially tell people about the project and many people are like, "Don Juan, why do you want to do that? He was a seducer, what else is there to know." My response is always a small history lesson on the origin of the legend of Don Juan and why Byron wrote what he wrote. People then change their tune a bit, but it is enlightening how people have preconceived notions based on just pop culture references. So here is

Welcome to the official blog of Lord Byron's Don Juan the web series. Here we will give information about the process of building a webseries dedicated to the poetry of Lord Byron. It is also the personal journey of bringing a vision to life. We will record all triumphs and failures here for people to see and experience firsthand what it is like to try and create a big project. I am filled with the motto,  ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. There is so much to be thankful for. travel, interesting people, new experiences. This project has already done that, and for this I am truly thankful. Why do this? Because the creative process sometimes is just as interesting or even more interesting as the project itself. We will strive to be as authentic as possible.  I have been at creative ventures for most of my adult life and I have always found that the most successful ones are based in true authenticity and not trying to reach for the stars but to wade in the reeds and lilipads of our own uni
